Overview

Lawyer Lin Shu-Chuan has practiced law in Taiwan for over 20 years. She holds various advisory roles including as legal counsel for the Taipei Women's Association, review lawyer for the Legal Aid Foundation, consultant and legal advisor for the SME Association of the Republic of China (Taiwan), and the Ministry of Labor's Entrepreneurship Consultant. Additionally, she volunteers as a lawyer for the Judicial Reform Foundation.


Lin has extensive experience in capital markets, serving numerous well-known clients. Her practice covers a wide range of areas including corporate law, maritime law, insurance law, and negotiable instruments law. She has accumulated years of experience in civil and criminal litigation, particularly in complex areas such as commercial mergers and acquisitions, fundraising, corporate governance, fair trade law, international trade, transportation disputes, and insurance disputes.


In addition to these areas, Lin specializes in technology law, including competition law, biotechnology law, intellectual property rights (including patents, trademarks, copyrights), public works disputes, government procurement law, labor disputes, cross-strait disputes, and Chinese law.


Lin is also recognized as an expert in debt restructuring, having handled hundreds of credit card debt cases, assisting debtors in negotiating with banks and filing for mediation, reorganization, and liquidation proceedings in court.

Experience
  • Assisted domestic securities firms in issuing legal opinions on the issuance of new financial products and warrants, handled cases involving violations of securities trading laws by well-known companies, disputes over loans and profiteering involving major banks.
  • Managed the ownership and merger processes of well-known companies.
  • Provided legal consultation and operational guidance to startup technology companies.
  • Served as legal advisor to numerous well-known companies, assisting in disputes such as equity disputes and disputes among directors and supervisors.
  • Handled several transportation-related cases, including high-profile incidents such as the TransAsia Airways crash, Yang Ming Marine Transport shipwrecks, the Hai Xiang No. 8 shipwreck, and transactions involving Taiwanese vessels purchased by mainland Chinese companies.
  • Previously served as consultant to multiple insurance companies, transport companies, shipping companies, and airlines, assisting in international trade disputes and insurance claims disputes.
  • Managed several cases involving land integration and development, as well as disputes over co-owned land and land lease rights. Also involved in public works disputes and bidding projects for well-known companies.
  • Provided intellectual property and technology-related services to domestic and foreign enterprises, including handling copyright disputes, patent infringement cases, consultations on patent and trademark applications, and strategic planning for patents.
