1839
FMC
Fraser Milner Casgrain traces its earliest predecessor back to Toronto in 1839. In 1990, within a year of relevant legal permits being issued, FMC Law merged several firms on both the East and West coasts, instantly becoming a truly national Canadian law firm. Over the ensuing decades, FMC Law firmly established itself in Canada's major economic hubs, assisting clients in seizing opportunities in Western Canada's burgeoning markets. While continually enhancing its reputation, FMC Law pursued a path of diversification, operating in both English and French and engaging with both common law and civil law. As part of the Dentons merger, FMC became the first Canadian law firm to serve as a foundational partner in a truly global law firm.
